Hudson Pacific Properties is the manager and partner, with Blackstone, of the Sunset Bronson Studios. This campus is the home of production facilities for Netflix, KTLA and other production companies. The focus for this project was to design a creative space that would also serve as a functional operations office for the HPP Building Management Office to oversee the ongoing needs for the entire Studio property. The CDG performed full-scope design and architectural services, including the custom design and fabrication of decorative laser-cut plywood panel features within the space. All furniture was selected and specified to integrate with the natural wood structure of the base building and to support wellness through use of height-adjustable work spaces and ergonomic seating. The space was transformed into a bright and inviting office that serves as the operations hub for this Studio property.
The goal of this project was to establish a work environment and wellness meeting facility for this non-profit organization. Their mission is to raise funds for unconventional cancer research and experimental medication treatments. Their successful efforts have enhanced the quality and length of life for many cancer patients and their families. Our design services involved all facets of design and management, from start to finish to develop a calm and functional working environment to include offices, multi-purpose meeting rooms for speakers and yoga/medication classes, as well as a full kitchen for cooking demonstrations to encourage dietary wellness. CDG performed all interior design, architectural, furniture procurement, city agency approval and project management services for this client.
Converting an old automotive repair shop into creative, attractive offices for a company with high expectations for replicating their roots in NYC warehouses, was not easy, especially in Santa Monica. A change of use process combined with extensive structural and mechanical, electrical and plumbing infrastructure upgrades, resulted in a project that is an amazing example of complete transformation. The bones of the old-styled industrial property were retained to showcase the original character of bow-truss and brick framework. CDG lead the renovation process, as Architect of Record, in tandem with this tenant’s NYC architect to develop a design that met the client’s vision, within the budgetary constraints of the building owner, while successfully navigating the complex city agency requirements of Santa Monica.
